Bolero is an American style dance which was introduced to United States in the mid 1930’s. The history of this dance is a bit of mystery. Bolero has the same Afro-Cuban roots as the Rumba but is quite different form the other American Rhythm daces because it requires Cuban motion and rise and fall. It is a very slow, smooth, graceful and romantic dance coming from the Spanish tradition. Bolero is often called the Cuban “Dance of Love” because of it’s slow and dreamy tempo. Can be danced to Spanish music like Cristian Castro, Julio Iglesias, Jose Feliciano and many others.
